PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE ACCEPTING DONATIONS 7 DAYS A WEEK.  ONLY BRING BOOKS IN A GOOD CONDITION & LESS THAN 15 YEARS OLD!! THANK YOU!

 Book Lover ? 

Are you a book lover - volunteer with us or visit us to buy some books! We have a large secondhand bookshop based in The Marlowes Centre, who are a great supporter of Lions, in Hemel Hempstead  (see directions below).  The shop is run by 6 Lions Clubs in the district so it's a collective volunteering effort.

Our bookshop is environmentally friendly - recycle your books and have an adventure on the way by buying more books!  (Books that are unsaleable are recycled and made into paper)

The shop is a big fundraiser for Lions and raises considerable amounts of money for local charities in the areas of Hemel Hempstead. Luton, Tring, St Albans, Harpenden and Watford and the surrounding district. Please consider visiting us, volunteering with us or donating good-quality books and other items. 

 Available Items: 

This bookshop is a haven for lovers of books!.  All items are very affordable (usually £1/item or less) and of a good quality. We have a wide variety of items including children's books, adult fiction and non-fiction including cookery, gardening, education, health & wellbeing .....................the list just goes on and on. We also sell vinyl records, DVDs, CDs, large print books, audio books & jigsaws.  See below for examples of our range

Why not come and take a look?

 We act as a distribution point for Hearing Aid batteries for Hemel Hospital.. We collect old reading glasses and hearing aids for recycling and these are distributed in Africa via eye and ear clinics. We distribute the 'Message in a Bottle' bottles which help the emergency services when saving people in an emergency - ask us for more details!

We are looking for able bodied volunteers to join our rotas on a regular or ad-hoc basis.  Please contact us to find out what is involved (it's easy and fun!) and become a volunteer with us!
